Slow Management, or the transition from “always more” to “always better”

Slow Management is one of the “alternative” managerial trends whose essential anchor point is the consideration of people in the company. Indeed, people are the real driving force behind organizations. Loïck Roche (Deputy CEO of GEM and teacher-researcher) describes the concept as follows:” Slow management means giving time to the people you manage and involving each individual in the performance of the company in order to give meaning to their work ” .Slow Management is nevertheless based on two fundamental rules:
- “Fair time”, that is to say time management based on the economy of resources
- Minimalism, which consists in keeping only the essentials (EXIT: long and too frequent meetings that are almost useless, time-consuming administrative processes and other procedures that provide no added value).
Concretely, the concept can be translated into simple actions: promoting and applying transparency, involving employees more in making important decisions, developing internal communication to highlight achievements...
